Topic: DTS and AMR-NB sound

Libdca and amrnb aren’t distributed with Avidemux for Windows due to patent right issues.  However, since r3091, Avidemux 2.4 can automatically detect and use these libraries once they’re installed.

So if you'd like to decode DTS and AMR-NB soundtracks with Avidemux, download the libraries from here:
Avidemux 2.4: http://rapidshare.com/files/47541079/av … 2.zip.html
Avidemux 2.5: http://rapidshare.de/files/45778647/avi … 2.zip.html

To install, just drop them in your Avidemux 2.4/2.5 folder.

To check they’re installed correctly:
Avidemux 2.4: Check the Help -> Built-in Support window in Avidemux.
Avidemux 2.5: Check the Help -> Plugins window in Avidemux.

Thanks!

Re: DTS and AMR-NB sound

Seems to work here ok.

What version of Avidemux are you using?
What is the exact error message?  A screenshot of the error message would be useful.
Could you also post the contents of your stdout.txt file from the Avidemux directory.

Re: DTS and AMR-NB sound

"Listed module was not found" means the DLLs are not in the same folder as avidemux2_gtk.exe.

The Built-in Support window should have a green tick beside libdca and amrnb if the DLLs are found.

Are you using a shortcut to launch?  It shouldn't really matter but check that the "Start in" folder is set to the Avidemux program files folder.

Re: DTS and AMR-NB sound

Hello everyone! I'm a Feisty Fawn Ubuntu user, I want to have support for AMR-NB in avidemux, so I copied those two .dll files into my .avidemux folder, and also to the /usr/bin/ but no way, it isn't showing that it as the capacity for opening that kind of audio.

Which one is the exact folder where I have to place this two little files in order to be able to open AMR-NB and dts audio files?

Thank you very much!

A little late response and maybe you allready know by now, but the dll's mentioned here are for Windows not for linux. If you want amrnb (and libdca/libdts) support you need to install them. Both are not available as binary packages for Feisty which means that you have to download and compile them yourself. Then you have to recompile avidemux to be able to use the libraries.

Re: DTS and AMR-NB sound

Could this post please be made a sticky?

Re: DTS and AMR-NB sound

Works here for me.  What's the audio codec listed as under File->Properties?  DTS?

Re: DTS and AMR-NB sound

Channels: Stereo
Bitrate 16000 Bps / 128 kbps

Is this some sort of default value which AVIdemux uses if it can't identify audio? If it is, it can be VERY misleading.

Re: DTS and AMR-NB sound

Sample would help.  Please upload to file host like rapidshare.

Re: DTS and AMR-NB sound

Avidemux currently doesn't support DTS audio in a Matroska container.

Re: DTS and AMR-NB sound

Fixed in r4106.

Re: DTS and AMR-NB sound

In Avidemux r4316 the Deblocking Filters is limited to a range between -6 and -4. This makes x264 useless, because it will enforce significant blocking.
Maybe this problem is caused by the update of GTK+ to v2.14 ???

Re: DTS and AMR-NB sound

Added plugins for 2.5.

Re: DTS and AMR-NB sound

These plugins are no longer required with my 2.5 SVN builds; r5103 and later now include AMR-NB and DTS decoding.

You don't need them anymore. Avidemux now has the OpenCORE ARM and DTS decoders "built-in" cool
