Topic: Suggestion: Gif Animator

I just switched to Linux and there are no good Gif Animators.

I recently saw that VirtualDub can make gif animations and it makes them in better quality than most gif animators I've seen.

But that means I'll have to use VirtualDub under Wine and that can be buggy.

If you can add a Gif Animator to Avidemux, that would be awesome!

Just be sure to include a Frame Decimate filter to reduce the number frames to cut down on gif sizes.

Re: Suggestion: Gif Animator

You can already change the framerate with Resample FPS filter.

Re: Suggestion: Gif Animator

As an alternative, you could use mplayer with -vo gif89a (see the manpage for further details), but the results won't look very good.
Personally, I'd just use the GIMP. Theres an animation package (GAP) which lets you extract and edit video frames with relative ease.

Thanks for this option.
I will try and see the result.

Re: Suggestion: Gif Animator

Any thought to adding a gif animator option to Avidemux?
