Can anyone tell smth about history of Avidemux? How it was appeared, who was initial creators and is it earn somehow money?

Avidemux was written in 2001 (initially just as a simple tool to extract audio from AVI files) by Mean, who is still the main developer. It was originally (the 0.x versions) just a Linux program, the Windows version came a couple of years later. Basically, 10 years ago, it was something like "VirtualDub for Linux". AFAIK, there is no money earned, accepted or asked by anyone involved.
