I use Avidemux 2.5.6. I need to do some alteration to the source video which is not listed in the current filters. It's likely possible by Avisynth Stab filter. But I'm not familiar with this software. So, please let me know:
1. Is there essentially possibility to add custom filters to what is currently listed in Avidemux?
2. If so, is there such a filter?
If the answer be negative, I've to learn how to use Avisynth and how to activate and work with its Stab plugin.
Avisynth filters are not directly usable in avidemux.
But you can use Avisynth + Avisynth plugins together with avidemux as the "front end".
To do that you have use the bundled avisynth-proxy program.
It lets you load output frames generated by the avisynth script into avidemux.
Just need avidemux to "connect" to the proxy and then avidemux can fetch/play/edit these frames.
Have a look at the wiki as it explains the process in detail.
with 2.6 you can use avs filter directly, fahr did some work on that

There is a avsfilter subfilter in the Misc video filters to load an avisynth set of filters
i'm trying to cope with avisynth. it's not easy at all. it's a professional tools. isn't there another way?

I don't think the avsfilter is making it into the nightlies for windows.
Only filter under Misc is printinfo.
Will check the latest and run it to be sure.
