Title: Merging/concatenating several MP4 files
Post by: andybillem on August 18, 2017, 04:26:26 PM
I have several MP4 files, most about 1 minute each.  Is it possible to merge them to one file with Avidemux, to then be edited?  I am Using Windows 7, 64 bit. Thanks for your help.  Andy

Either drag and drop the files onto Avidemux window in the order you would like to have them or load the first one then "File" --> "Append" each of the remaining. Saving them in copy mode will likely fail if codec settings used to generate the individual videos differed even a slightest bit, reencoding should not pose a problem though.

Obviously, all files must share the same dimensions, orientation and frame rate.

Is there a limit to how many can be merged/file size?

The total duration is uint64_t measured in Ã,µs, the number of frames is uint32_t and the number of segments (at least one per video) is also a uint32_t. Whichever you hit first (so likely not the number of segments ;-)).
