Getting below error message while i am trying to open the avidemux2.6...
"avidemux: error while loading shared libraries: libADM6avcodec.so.56: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

On what system are you? 32- or 64-bit? What did you install?
Avidemux core libraries not installed or not in library search path.
You should probably update to the current git. 2.6 is long dead, 2.7.0 release getting long in the tooth.
