I'm surprise no one seems to have noticed, trying to output to HuffYUV or (FF)HuffYUV using v2.6.13 standard release, crashes Avidemux. HuffYUV is handy to use as a transitional codec, if you want to change the frame rate and/or dimensions of a clip eg WMV clip (horrible codec to work with) before doing something else with it. The only similar workflow now is YV12 which creates even larger files than HuffYUV.

When a fix like this is announced in this way, does it become the download on the main page or is it become a nightly build download?

Edit: Ah ok, I've just noticed the 'New release soon' thread, v2.5.6 can do that if I need it in the meantime. (no relation implied).

Once a changeset has been committed, you can profit immediately if you build Avidemux locally from source on your computer, which is quite easy on Linux but maybe more complicated on Windows. If you build Avidemux locally you can also profit from not yet upstreamed patches.

"Soon" could be in a week.

It's in the nightly (for some times now)
