Error when opening previously-created indexed VOB

When I try to open a VOB file that has had an index generated by a previous version of avidemux, I get an error message:

This file's index has been created with an older version of avidemux.
Please delete the idx2 file and reopen.


Doing this automatically is trivial. It makes no sense to me to have the user do this manually.
After clicking OK, a second messagebox opens:

Attempt to open D:/Download/blablabla.vob failed!

Well, duh :)
Kinda superfluous, but if the previous thing went on automatically, this wouldn't happen.
Also, there are slashes instead of backslashes.
After clicking OK, a third messagebox opens:

Could not open the file

ORLY?
After clicking OK, a fourth messagebox opens:

CRASH
Press OK to build crash info


Okay, I'll give it that. This is, after all, a nightly.

But you gotta agree, it's a bit of an overflow of messageboxes, for being unable to open one file, especially when the failure is completely trivial to catch and correct automatically, is it not?

This is Avidemux r8941 on Windows XP.

Not a big thing, but the problem that there are slashes instead of backslashes also appears when using win32 installer for 2.6.6 (r8941).
Try to view changelog: c:\Programme\Avidemux_2.6/Change Log.html

In case you did not notice or forgot or ignored (as usually):
Desktop operating systems: Windows XP: Service Pack 3: End of mainstream support: April 14, 2009 you should have upgraded, moved on ages ago :p

@ thany - you do realize that there are multiple triggers for these messages.
While they don't suit you're expectation for you're case, they might just be what the doctor ordered for another.
