opencv filter - specifically superres

I would like to use the OpenCV superres functionality to improve video resolution. Has anyone tried integrating Avidemux and OpenCV? Is there a reason I should not do this as a video filter?

The only tricky part is how much it is tied to the video card
If not, should not be too hard
