Moved to VirtualDub but this question still bothers me

A while ago I gave up on Avidemux issues with consistency and moved to VirtualDub but by this very moment this things bother me:

Lossles original:

Encoded to H264/avc through VirtualDub + x264vfw (bt709 matrix):

Encoded to H264/avc through Avidemux (direct open), (bt709 matrix):

Encoded to Huffyuv through Avidemux (avi container, mp3 dummy):

(no Aviproxy examples because they are even more horrible).

Basically, regardless of encoder format and options I choose, even lossless, it always manages to f*ck up colors badly, without any reason. I never figured out why, it is puzzling.

Original source:

Format : Fraps
Codec ID : FPS1
Frame rate : 30.000 fps
Color space : YUV
Bit depth : 8 bits

Those images are not off the same frame.
Were the avc recodes lossles?
Maybe I am colour blind but I see no colour shifts.
I do see some detail being washed out hence why I ask if the recodes were lossles.

Sure thing:

Original frame 20 from source:

Frame 20 saved through Avidemux:

Frame 20 from lossless Huffyuv video processed through Avidemux:

I tried to use color-correction filters but they manage to mess up things to worse. I never ever received proper color output from Avidemux once.

PNG image: 1.1 MB against 701.6 kB,  surely some details get lost?

The position of the content is not in the same place.
You may be looking at frame 20 in each sample but they are not of the same image.

I still don't know what you mean by loss of proper colour as I fail to see any colour shift.
Not suggesting it isn't there but can you point out the colour issues.

I do see some loss of definition in terms of some fine detail being washed out.
That maybe because we are looking at frames with different content.

If the recodes are truely lossles then that fine detail should be there.
And if the PNG images are of the same quality then that should be fairly representativeof any differences.
But as Jan points out, the PNG images are of greatly different sizes for the approximately same content.

@ Kein - The comments made so far have no TROLL flavor.

Considering recent experiences on this forum I will make this short - this kind of attitude now leaves me cold.

Good luck with virtualdub.

You are here to troll because bored or something?
Have a nice day to and don't expect any help from me: user error :P

I fail to see any colour shift.
If you don't see the difference in color range between these 3 images from my previous post then there is simply nothing to discuss. I assume you use TN or something. Or may be do not perceive the colors very good.

As a workaround in this case, you could use any suitable software to make a visual detailed colormap - should be obvious that way.

I didn't need help nor your help specifically in a first place, since I solved the issue by moving to VirtualDub. That being said, both of your replies were 0% helpful and very much looked like troll posts so no loss here.

You were highly overreacting, slipping to trolling like behaviour yourself.
All Jan did was a technical, topical, follow up question.

mean

and when played back by the same player the videos look different ?

Kein

Used MPC-HC with sync renderer, same player env for all videos.

UPD: it would appear I cannot specify the colormatrix  parameter for x264 encoder anymore in 2.6+? Wanted to test something
