No sound during playback of source file inside Avidemux

If have "local playback downmixing" set to "no downmixing". Playback it gives error "trouble initializing audio device" when "win32" is selected.

If "dummy" is selected then there is no error, but also no sound even though it shows sound graph in bottom right corner.

This makes it difficult to properly select my in and out markers.

Please advise on how to enable sound.
