Jumping to next keyframe while playing video

In an older version I used to be able to jump forward by pressing up or right while playing a video to jump forward. In all the later versions I've used now it doesn't work like that anymore. Now it jumps to the beginning and then back immediately. Can I change the setting somewhere to get this behavior? It was so much easier to scrub through footage fast when I was able to do that. Now I'm using the newest legacy appimage (Avidemux-x86_64_20261018_legacy.AppImage) on linux mint 22.3.

Works for me while playing a video with the official legacy 20261018 appImage on Debian 12, a platform closest to Linux Mint 22.3 available to me now, nothing changed in this regard. The navigation slider sometimes jumps for a tiny fraction of a moment to the start position, but this doesn't affect functionality. The thumb slider (the wheel to the right of the navigation slider on left-to-right platforms) works while playing as well.

Just curious, why the legacy one? Does the normal appImage that requires libc (glibc) 2.38 or later fail to run (as it does on Debian 12 due to libc version being too old)?

The slider jumps to 6 seconds from the start of the video every time i press up on my keyboard, and then goes to the same position it was before I pressed it. I can double tap the up arrow and then it will go forward 6 seconds (this video has keyframes every 2 seconds and the first frame is also one). The "wheel" does go 2 seconds forward if I press on the far right side of it, but, sometimes if I click too fast in succession it will reset the playback position to the start unfortunately.

It's not a problem with just one video or videos from the same source. For example, on a video with keyframes every 5 seconds it jumps forward 5 seconds if I double tap the up arrow. But again it jumps to 00:00:05 for a split second every time (instead of 6 sec like the keyframe every 2 sec vid).

Yes, the normal version doesn't run. I tried to troubleshoot it several months ago and I couldn't solve it, I remember some issue with FUSE 2 or 3 or something but I don't know if that was the issue.

Btw, this old version I have lying around works properly, avidemuxLinux_GLIBC_2.28_amd64_241110_1006.appImage. It also does the 6 sec instead of 2 sec but maybe that's how it always was. It also never jumps to the beginning for a split second.
