Can someone help me find the right combination of settings to produce a video that will be playable on a Mac using only out-of-the-box software? That is, only Quicktime, iTunes, and whatever else comes installed by default. This is for my in-laws, and I don't want to have to explain how to download and install VLC or MPlayer.
My original is an FLV video. VLC reports that it's using the following codecs:
Video: H264 MPEG-4 AVC, frame rate 29.97
Audio: MPEG Audio layer 1/2/3, Mono, 44100 Hz, 56 kb/s
I've tried a variety of combinations of video codec, audio codecs, and containers, but I can't get anything that works. Sometimes I can get the video working, but I have yet to find anything that will make the audio work.
