Title: Subtitles in mkv files
Post by: moschenskiy on May 20, 2020, 09:08:48 AM
When converting mkv files, it is possible to select audio tracks, but subtitles are ignored are not copied at all. Are you planning to add such a function? Your program is great in everything, but this function is sorely lacking!

I would also like to copy attachments (such as cover.png) and chapter information.

Nothing in the works ATM, a huge effort necessary to add support for at least some of subtitle formats to all involved parts of the chain (core, demuxers, editor, bitstream filters and muxers) is definitely not on radar short-term.

The only criterion how much a feature, not capable of materializing itself with miserable resources available, is missing, is whether people submit patches or not. That said, it is obvious that nobody wants this functionality.

You can use MkvToolNix for that.

MkvToolNix is also good for adding back the subtitles.
Its just a quick remux and I use it all the time for this purpose.
