Avidemux does not seem to support Softsubtitles, only burned in. Are there any endeavors to support softsubtitles?

I did not think of subtitles being so difficult to implement. Thank you for clarification why softsubs are not supported yet.
If you'd need to be a programmer life form for this task, I wouldn't be of any help whatsoever. My knowledge with code is limited to html and a little bit of php.
If there is something helpful i can do besides to get these softsubs implemented, please let me know.
