Title: [Bug] Jump to start; Jump to end crashes
Post by: bitboy on December 28, 2013, 07:55:13 PM
Hi,

using the Buttons Jump to start or Jump to end (both last blue buttons) results in a crash on Windows XP.

you can use the same sample i provided in my other post: http://www.file-upload.net/download-8455910/sample.mpg.html

- cut a part at the beginning of the movie and then use "jump to start" -> crash

- cut a part at the end of the movie and the use "jump to end" -> seeking error / crash

Yes its Windows XP

ahhh there is a detail to reproduce it.

When file is loaded, set Marker A (it isnt realy the beginning of the file; time shows 00:00:00.120) move the slider somewhere and set marker B. Cut it out with DEL and then use jump to start.

using this steps it also crashes on Win 7

It doesn't crash if you move the slider somwhere, use Marker B and then Del to cut the piece out. After that time shows 00:00:00.000 corrrectly.

wow thats fast :)

one last thing, the encoding problem from here: http://www.avidemux.org/smf/index.php/topic,13488.0.html seems to be related to that issue. If i only use Marker B to cut from the beginning, encoding seems to work, while using A and B leads to a crash.

So maybe your fix will fix both of them.

Good news: I tried the nightly and the fix works for the button.

Bad news: it breaks encoding. Encoding will start and finish successfully, but the result is an empty(?) small (300kb) file.

It looks like a related but separate issue
