Hi there,

I'm using Avidemux2.6.20 (MacBook pro, macOS 10.12.5) to extract ac3 audio tracks from one movie and remux into another. Initially the audio track is recognised by Avidemux as ac3 file.

However when I try to import it back using Audio>Select Track, the same extracted ac3 file now is been recognised wrongly as e-ac3.

I have attached a screenshot to demonstrate the problem and mediainfo report below.

Has anyone else seen the same thing and can suggest a fix?

Many thanks,

mean

Would need a short sample of the ac3 file
10 sec is enough

Can't ran Avidemux2.7_r2017_06_29_f132f4b2936 on Sierra 10.12.5. Please see system log error below.

Jun 29 06:30:29 com.apple.xpc.launchd[1] (com.apple.xpc.launchd.oneshot.0x10000011.Avidemux2.7.app[1125]): Service exited with abnormal code: 134

Maybe you got it while it was uploading
Could you retry downloading it ?

vangelis

I tried both builds you have in the OS X_sierra folder. Both give me the same error. Gatekeeper is fully disabled.

mean

weird
I 've just retried
I'll build it again to see

Another user reported the same thing.
Please see here: http://avidemux.org/smif/index.php/topic,17755.15.html

.....
I've used the earlier build from the 21st of May (ending in 0c5b), the later two don't seem to open on my system. I get the usual "but it's from the internet" warning, select "Open Anyway" and then nothing happens. Just thought I'd let you know.
.....

mean

Could you start it from the command line ?

i.E.
Content/MacOS/Avidemux2.7.app

and post the output ?

vangelis

build Avidemux2.7_r2017_06_29_f132f4b2936 now runs on one machine, will try on another and report back shortly.

Many thanks for all your help.

Hi mean,

build Avidemux2.7_r2017_06_29_f132f4b2936 now runs on sierra 10.12.5-10.12.6 on two separate macs and the external ac3 files are recognised correctly.

Well done mate.

Hi mean,

On a slightly related issue, I noticed any AAC, 6 channel audio track is recognised incorrectly as 128k. Please could you look into this?

many thanks,
Vangelis

mean

bitrate for AAC is hard to get, so the value is always set to 128K

vangelis

OK, that makes sense.

PS Please can we have the latest 2.7 nightly optimised for retina screens?
