Title: Avidemuz version 2.7.6 - Appending multiple files (Windows)
Post by: timaavid on January 02, 2021, 07:20:47 AM
Is there a way to create a file list that the Avidemux can use to ensure that files are loaded in the proper order?

When I drag and drop my files are not in order.
I am trying to merge multiple MP4s (~4MBs each).
My files are in order within File Manager https://imgur.com/a/NEXp55n

Or is dragging and dropping supposed to keep the files in order (Assuming they are in order within File Manager)?

My attempts have been within Avidemux in a new session.

Thanks for your help.

While looking into the issue I saw a different app [VirtualDub] that has something in the UI (see starting @ 53 seconds into the video below) to accomplish what I am looking for.

is there something in the options of Avidemux I must do?

No. You've already received an answer which is 100% correct --> https://avidemux.org/smif/index.php?msg=90547

Avidemux appends files during a drag-and-drop operation in the order they are passed to it by the file manager => it is purely the file manager's business and usually determined by the sorting options for the folder and the order in which individual files are selected.

The only thing I would like to add is a recommendation to use latests nightlies (https://avidemux.org/nightly/) rather than the last release due to a significant number of issues fixed and some new features added. Nightlies are more stable than the "stable" version anyway, just don't expect old project scripts to stay compatible and don't expect old versions to understand scripts, index files and configurations created by nightlies.

This is what "stable" really means: interfaces don't change. Quality-wise, nightlies are better 99% of the time as a conservative estimate.

Thanks that works for me.
