Title: Converting avi(xvid) to webm
Post by: jolo100 on August 23, 2016, 01:05:20 AM
I want to take a .avi video and convert it to webm(v8or9) using Avidemux 2.6.12 and I am struggling.
My reason for this is to have people be able to stream video from my website.
From Gspot the source file is XviD ISO MPEG-4, audio MPEG-1 Layer 3 mono 48000 60kb.
I have tried different combinations to encode it, but I receive errors each time.
When I have tried  to use:
Vid output -->  Copy
Audio out --> Copy
Out Format --> Webm Muxer
I will get a error windows:
Webm Unsupported Video
Only VP8/9 Video and vorbis/orbis audio supported.

After I change the Audio out to vorbis, I still received the same error window.

Please help guide me through this conversion to Webm.  :D

Thank you in advance.
Jon

encoding (writing) to webm is not supported, only decoding (reading) is in avidemux (2.6.13 = current).

It's supported but only in copy mode for VP9 video
