Title: Encoding windows catch focus
Post by: mase on May 08, 2014, 05:41:55 PM
Hi!
Is it possible to prevent the encoding windows to catch the focus?
It is very annoying, that when I am working while avidemux runs in
the background, and a new encoding window appears, it directly
pops up and catches the focus. When this happens while typing,
the abort button is hit by space or enter.
Avidemux should not catch the focus or pop up at all.

Does this also happen when you checkmark the "use systray while encoding" in the user interface?

You don't mention the OS being used but maybe M$ windows.

Found this registry mod about preventing popups from stealing focus from the currently active window.
Apparently it works only if you are using windows XP.

Popups should not take focus, so this item (for once) points to avidemux.

This link also might help - as it keeps the currently active windows allways on top.

Lets know if these suggestions help.

Sorry, I forgot. I use Debian.
"use systray while encoding" has no effect.
Maybe XFCE related.
