Whatever they could say, the good xviD coder has been removed. Check http://avidemux.org/smuf/index.php?topic=11402.0 (http://avidemux.org/smuf/index.php?topic=11402.0)
You can use Divx as it is (very simple without useful setting, like interlacing, etc.) or go back to 2.5.6-1.
Bye.
QuoteYou can use Divx as it is
The encoder is not DivX as the displayed library shows:
QuoteWriting library : XviD 64
It's a little bit complicated:
Please try to convert any video using that coder and verify what's the output.
With Mediainfo:

So it's Xvid coder with FourCC set to DivX...
...but still not the wanted Xvid coder in 2.5.6-1....
QuoteXvid
Xvid is an open-source MPEG-4 ASP video codec. Avidemux can optionally use external Xvid library for encoding if it was compiled with Xvid support.

Ok.
So next question is: why win versions (both 32 and 64 bit) have been NOT compiled with that free Xvid as done up to 2.5.6-1 ?
Really, I still don't understand why not....
Of course I can't compile on Win myself....
I understand that this good tool is for free but from your answer it seems that re-inserting the Xvid coder used in 2.5 is for free as well... why not in next nightly build?
Try with a nightly i think xvid is there
(at least the 32 bits version)

Hi.
Tried today.
Release avidemux_r8289_win32 does NOT contain the requested Xvid coder.
I really don't understand why we don't agree that there's not anymore the Xvid coder included in 2.5.6 release...
The verification is very simple: it's enough to open the configuration for Xvid in 2.5.6-1 and 2.6.x for verifying that there's a big difference.
Decided to not include the Xvid coder included in 2.5.6-1 in 2.6 branch? That's ok. It's up to the developers.
Decided to include the Xvid in 2.5.6-1 in following releases of 2.6.x? I'm very happy.
Declaring that the Xvid coder included in 2.6 branch is the same included in 2.5 branch? I don't agree at all.
The "original" XviD is included during compile if the XviD source code is included by packager.
I don't who compiled your win32 binary, maybe they don't included it.
I've compiled 2.6 for linux from svn, I have the XviD sources, and avidemux 2.6 has the "Mpeg4 ASP (xvid4)" video codec :)
