Title: How to handle variable frame rate
Post by: Timmorn on June 06, 2013, 07:49:42 AM
Hello,

I have found no answer to this: How to handle variable frame rate? I think this is an important task, because many devices like Android and iPhone use variable frame rate nowadays. I tried to import such a video for cutting / converting, but it didn't really work. When I tried to cut the video, it got out of sync and sliding though the video was buggy.

Is there any guideline how to handle such videos in Avidemux or isn't this supported at the moment?

Thanks
Timmorn

Use latest nightly, download, unpack with 7zip (http://www.7-zip.org/), replace installed avidemux with this content: http://avidemux.org/nightly/
Important to understand 2.6 branch avidemux is not frame editor, is time based. Load video part 1, append manually other parts in sequence [Ctrl][A] from same source and same used encodings. Save this as new video with copy for both video and audio using same container format. Reload newly saved video and edit this one. Preferred way of editing video with newer codecs (h264, ...): demo trim/cut/edit video 2.6 branch way (http://www.avidemux.org/smf/index.php/topic,12094.0.html)
