You can choose one of ht HDR tonemapping methods. Tweaking the parameters you can get adequate result, but not guaranteed.

HDR Tone Mapping is grayed out under video. I assume it does not work with HW acceleration enabled?

When i disable hardware acceleration and open video AviDemux is crashing.

Here is sample of video (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1bc6tRzEWwQlQm9EcGrCDDdiEfJDogayg/view?usp=sharing).

I am using clean install of avidemux_2.8.2 r231210_win64.exe from Dec 10 2023 without any settings changed and its crashing when opening video.

HDR Tone Mapping should be available on systems with recent NVIDIA graphics cards when using NVDEC instead of DXVA2.

Confirming the crash with HDR Tone Mapping enabled (no crash with HDR Tone Mapping disabled) no matter which decoder.

szlldm has kindly fixed the crash, please try a future nightly build (Dec 21 2023 or later).

Thank you for the report and the sample.
