Title: Analyse H264 files
Post by: Shotokan81 on May 23, 2013, 03:20:14 PM
Hi,

Is there a way to analyze the files that are opened and can be decoded by avidemux?

I have mts files from my camcorder and would like to know the detected H264 encoding settings used by the camera.

The File > Information gives a summary, but it would be great to see each encoding option from the H264 encoder tabs.

Maybe some log files contain this info?

Thanks

Perhaps you can find out enough using Mediainfo (http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en/Download/Mac_OS)

Thanks, it displays indeed a lot of information.

I will have a look and see what I can recognize from x264 encoding settings in Avidemux.

When I select details it even shows a huge list of hexadecimal numbers in front of each information.

I wonder if this is the way the info is stored, and so what the media info program reads and interprets.

As you are on OS X, you may try VideoSpec (https://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/25921/videospec) (it uses mediainfo, atomic parsley, ffprobe and mplayer).
