Title: Bug: VOB and (sometimes) mpeg-ps not indexed properly
Post by: max.db on February 16, 2016, 05:50:18 AM
When I open VOBs from a DVD, they are indexed wrong in 2.6.8 and 2.6.11b160215, but indexed correctly in 2.5.6.   Thus I can only process DVDs with v2.5.6.  Error is variable from file to file, not a set number of frames nor a percentage of frames.  I'm baffled that I don't see this problem listed in the forum already, doesn't everyone encounter it?

Running 32 bit version(s) on Win7 64 bit.

I see that other people do indeed find the problem.   ::) I searched the forum poorly before posting about this known issue.  The advice is to keep 2.5.6 alongside, which is what I have done.  Regarding indexing one at a time rather than automatically, that doesn't fix the problem (for me).  Opening just a single VOB it will have the wrong length in 2.6.

Jan, thanks for replying.

You need to delete the corresponding .idx2 files (avidemux2.6) 1st (using same file name).
.idx (avidemux 2.5)
Should be working, if not use mkvtoolnix, then use newly saved file in avidemux 2.6
