Title: Hardware Recoding
Post by: apollo567 on July 30, 2016, 09:16:38 PM
Hello,

I have been absent from avidemux for quite some time.
Was there any change in support of Hardware encoding/decoding ? In the past only CPU-Support was available.
Is there now Quicksync or CUDA Support (or something from AMD) available for AViademux or are there plans to do so ?

Kind regards
apollo

When you start avidemux 2.6.12, from the Avidemux Menu -> Edit - > Preferences -> [Display]
You should find the capabilities in Video display: [       ]
and the matching options in [HW accel]
recent builds found here: http://www.avidemux.org/nightly/

As I'm not a windows user, I can't tell what is and what isn't supported for that OS
In Linux you find video decoding with VDPAU (nvidia), XVBA (amd) and LIBVA (Intel)
Some filters take advantage of OpenGL and VDPAU

x265 encoding is now supported
