Title: Display both input and output in the main window
Post by: M8R-1pabnh@mailinator.com on July 25, 2013, 12:42:33 AM
Hi,
Just installed version 2.6.4 on Windows XP.
On the toolbar, I do not see the Side, Top and Separate buttons (illustrated below).

BTW, my version is in French if that matters at all.
I downloaded the program from the official Sourceforge page.

Any ideas how I can fix this?
Thanks!

Hi,

There are no user settings to enable these functions (ie not user fixable).

It seems that these functions are simply not implemented (as yet!).
It maybe outside the scope for a time based version of avidemux.
Probably the aim with this version is to be more of a recoder for variable frame rate videos, rather than doing frame based editing and comparative viewing.

Of course I am just speculating and wouldn't mind knowing myself if its in the pipe line.

Thanks for the answer.
It's no biggie -- I can live without this feature, especially since I can switch between the two modes using the first two icons.
In my case, it was only to compare the gamma and color adjustments I had made.
Anyways, if I really want to see original and modified side by side, I can always fire up VLC on the side to see the original.
Thanks again.
