Avidemux has been accepted into Homebrew's main repo. It was a long haul, about 6 months of work, but I think it was worth it. Thanks to everyone who helped iron out the bugs. I've updated the Howto (http://www.avidemux.org/smf/index.php?topic=9960.0), but essentially people who already have Homebrew running okay should be able to simply type
brew install qt
brew install --HEAD avidemux
and they will get a fast install of a precompiled Qt4 and the lastest svn version of 2.5.
If for some reason people would rather run the older 2.5.6 stable that is missing a few fixes, they can
brew install avidemux
Congratulations,
