Title: How to apply audio shift without re-encoding?
Post by: yetanotherlogin on March 25, 2014, 03:10:56 PM
Hello

The MPEG2 files created by my camcorder show a delay (shift) between audio and video which, according to MediaInfo, is -272ms.

So I opened one file in AviDemux 2.6.8, checked the "Shift" option*, tried either "272" or "-272"ms, and hit the Play button, but the shift is still there.

Does it mean the Shift checkbox doesn't apply to live play, and is only used when saving the file? Is there a way to check that the shift is corrected before saving a file?

Thank you.

Tried a small mpeg2 sample, and it worked with 2.6.8 in copy and in audio recode mode.
Audio shift is applied during playback on both the input and output screen.

For selection of language go to preferences > user interface > languages > English

Thanks for the info.

It looks like it's hardware-based, since the file plays OK on a different, more powerful computer.
