Title: PAL to FILM Audio Filter
Post by: jimmy on July 24, 2022, 02:24:19 PM
Hello. The PAL to FILM Audio Filter has become problematic over the last two win64 releases {Jul 20 & Jun 20].
Much slower, more than double the typical RAM, usage, program crash with no files remembered in the recent list.

A stereo track may save successfully, but 6 channel has a reproducible crash at about 25%. Confirmed with various input files.

Could be fallout from switch from homegrown implementation to RubberBand library. Could you please provide a (as short as sufficient to reproduce the crashes) sample source video via WeTransfer, Mega, Dropbox or Google Drive?

Thanks. The filter use to work so flawlessly I was hoping it remained untouched when the RubberBand features were introduced.

To keep the sample small, I re-encoded the video [23.976] at CRF51, but kept the audio [25.000] untouched, then tested with crash at 24%.

edit - removed sample link

Thank you for reporting the problem, szlldm has presumably both fixed the issue with RubberBand (it was temporarily allocating a ton of memory, everything worked without crashes or leaks when sufficient memory was installed) and reverted to the old implementation specifically for PAL2FILM / FILM2PAL conversion. Please try a future nightly.
