Title: Playing a video without soundtrack results in huge CPU usage
Post by: eumagga0x2a on November 20, 2016, 11:45:23 AM
Playing a video (tested with 720p h264 samples) in the freshly released 2.6.15 without soundtrack results in huge (~90%) CPU usage no matter which audio output driver or video decoder / output driver. The same video with an external soundtrack added doesn't result in any increased CPU load.

I bump this topic gently just not to forget about it. Unfortunately, I still lack basic profiling skills, which makes this issue off-limits for me for now and for the near future.

Yes, it is verified fixed: [playback] Dont busy loop when there is no audio track (https://github.com/mean00/avidemux2/commit/e6482ab459c0221701d6eef0f01f5ca653f1e8ef), thank you very much.

(Presumably no profiling was necessary for that, just a clear understanding of what was going on...)
