Title: Video "jitter" solution?
Post by: Gandalf on March 24, 2014, 09:12:53 PM
I am trying to transfer a videotape (yes, as in analog) over to a DVD via Avidiomux, and the problem that I'm having with it is that it is somewhat "well used" you might say, and as a result, the picture is a bit shaky on playback. Is there a filter for use with Avidemux that I can use to steady it? I am using version 2.6.7, by the way.

Avidemux doesn't have a filter for that kind of video manipulation.

There are various filters for analog video restoration available for avisynth.
Since you are using linux, I think you can use avisynth through wine, but no idea how well it works.
There is a plugin called deshaker that might suit your issue or a time base correction plugin.

If you have access to MS windows based PC it is easier to use avisynth.
Can then also use virtualdub with this deshaker filter plugin.

Unfortunately I don't have access to a MS Windows-based PC.
