Title: Stategy for frame rate reduction with odd video.
Post by: EEMcGee on October 25, 2016, 02:01:00 AM
I have an animated show at 60fps.  it runs at 6 duplicate frames then 4, 6, 4, 6 and so on.  I'm trying to come up with a strategy to take it down to it's original apparently 12 fps format.  I'm not sure of the best way to do it.  I don't see any signs of interlacing in any frames.  It looks like it was probably taken to 30fps first so they had to do a 2,3,2,3 duplicated frames to get there.  I think they then doubled all frames again to get to 60 fps for broadcasting.  I wish there were a filter that would let me tell it what the cadence is and remove the dupes as it seems very consistent.

You can try resample fps to 30 , it will at least remove the  x2 dupes

I'm just wondering how resample FPS handles going from say 60 fps to 24 fps.  Does it grab whole frames from the current set in staggered pattern or interpolate from multiple frames?
