Title: Jan 11th .NET update seems to break avidemux
Post by: DoctorPaul on January 13, 2022, 03:41:35 PM
Running avidemux 2.7 on Windows 7 Pro, still receiving security updates - latest update was a security rollup for .NET which seems to have broken avidemux.

Try to open a video file, indexing takes place but then instead of displaying the first frame, the application crashes and exits.

Uninstalled v2.7 and clean installed v2.8 - problem persists.

Rolled back the .NET update - everything now working fine.

1. 2.7.x versions are completely unsupported.

2. Does the problem persist with all relevant video outputs (DXVA2, OpenGL and Qt) no matter what file type?

edit: and if it does, please test whether not only the VC++-compiled release build but also the MinGW-compiled release build (r220109 from here (https://avidemux.org/nightly/win64/)) is affected.
