Maybe its the ~ in front of your file name.
Often its indicative of some issue with file access or file path lenght truncation.
a sample video would help
How can I upload an attachment? It says the file size is too large
I think pausing the video using CamStudio then recording, pausing, and recording frequently causes it to crash? If I don't pause a video at all during the recording, it appears AVIDEMUX can open it just fine.
Maybe this:

confirmed
You confirmed that the file crashes Avidemux; or that pausing the video during recordings is the cause of it crashing? Or both? ???
Confirmed it crashes on loading, fixed by r8953
BTW, i've increased the number of packed frames to 20
If it still crashes with some video i'll bump it even more, but 20 should be more than enough
Nice! I'll update my avidemux to r8953, test some videos and let you know.
Does someone know where I can get release 8953 or later?
(Found it: http://www.avidemux.org/nightly/win64/)
Okay, most videos open now, some load further along, yet still crash... image attached:
Not sure it is the same error
Could you provide a sample ?
Could be that 30 is not enough because when paused the recorder inserts a lot (really a lot ) of empty frames ,i .e. repeat previous image
The sample video is too large to upload, plus the content is not public. (includes passwords etc). I wonder if I should be downloading the source code and modifying the setting you adjust to my liking?
Does it slow things down or harm anything if you bump the amount up to 100 or 1000 or more?
I've changed it to 200 in 8959, might not be enough
A sensible value is ~ 3 for info
Got it, I'll grab the lasted build and attempt the larger video recording I have giving me grief. I'll let you know if that fix it. Thanks for the support!
I am able to open most of the videos now, previously NONE of them worked, now most of them work. Still have a few videos that crash when I try to load them with r8959. I wish I could upload a reference video however the larger ones contain sensitive info and I can't. I guess I won't be able to edit them using Avidemux.
If I run across a video that doesn't contain sensitive info and crashes, I'll be sure to get it to you somehow.
Thanks again for the help!
Hi there I may have a suggestion. So your videos crashes when you load any videos from CamStudio. You could possibly try and install the Avidemux 2.6.5 and load the files on that format.
