Title: Converting *.MOV (with HEVC) and AAC: No sound in resulting MP4
Post by: thoste on July 19, 2024, 10:38:55 AM
I have got a *.MOV smartphone movie (from iPhone) with HEVC (x265) video codec and AAC-LC audio codec.

I can play it without problems in VLC

Now I want to convert it with Avidemux v2.8.2 on Windows 10 into a smaller MP4 video with
HEVC video codec and AAC (lav) audio codec.

This works only partially: the video part is converted, but there is no sound.

Even when I select "Copy" from codec Drop down for Audio output no sound is produced.

For all possible audio codecs the drop downs "Configure" and "Filters" are greyed out/disabled

Why?

How can I get video with sound?

The next nightly will have this fixed – or don't wait and build from source yourself.

Ok, thank you.

When will be approximately the next Nightly release?

In a week or 3 months?
