Currently my Avidemux fastest processing settings with HEVC under Ubuntu:

Quote[Edit] > [Preferences] > [Display]
Video display: [Qt]
[HW Accel]:
[v] Decode video using VDPAU (NVIDIA)
Using Nvidia HEVC

That is a hell of a high bitrate for 720p output ;D

Switching away from "High Quality" preset, default in Avidemux, to at least "Medium" not mentioning "High Performance" hugely speeds up encoding  when using the "Nvidia HEVC" encoder plugin.

I'm gaining approx 200 to 300 frames using
Video display: [Qt] instead of Video display: [VDPAU]

Ok will test that, thank for the hints.
