Hi,
I've used avidemux for several years now and love the software. I've recently reinstalled it on a new PC and things are sadly not working as expected.
When I open any video file, I can play the video and pause and resume. However, if I scrub the timeline using the vertical bar, it does not actually seek to the specified location (I can't see the preview update), and pressing play again skips back to the closest I-Frame. Additionally, setting the in and out points (A/B) do not work, they snap only to I-Frames, even when a reencoding mode is selected. I've tried multiple hardware decoders and disabling for software decoding, doing both Copy as well as reencoding modes (combinations of Nvidia HEVC, x264, x265, AAC and Vorbis for audio).
I've attached the log where I load a video, attempt to scrub where nothing happens until I reach past the first I-Frame, set my in and out points, then change encoding to Nvidia H264 and AAC, then try to set in and out points on a frame by frame level and fail. I'm on the latest `win64` nightly build. Thanks!
Not looking at the log, it all works as designed. By default, the navigation slider performs keyframe-based seek (it was always this way). Holding down the CTRL key while dragging the slider performs fine seek (which may be – depending on video properties, hardware, availability of hw accelerated decoding etc. – very, very slow). To choose a picture suitable for a start or end of a selection, use LEFT and RIGHT arrow keys.
