Title: Avidemux_2.8.2 VC++ 64bit installation question
Post by: Mack50 on April 05, 2025, 09:28:50 PM
I started to update my Avidemux 2.8.1 but couldn't complete the installation. A window displayed for the Setup Wizard with three options, Add or Remove Components, Update Components, and Remove All Components.  I'm usure which one to select if I just want to update my current version to the newer version.  Thank you for your help.

The last known good official nightly build is cross-compiled (built with MinGW on Linux for 64bit Windows) r241212. Therefore, completely remove the incompatible VC++ build, then install (or unpack) the cross-compiled one.

Avidemux is an inherently portable application, it doesn't need to be installed to run. Using an installer-packaged build may add just some comfort Windows-integration features like "open with" context menu entries.
