Title: strange audio device set to dummy problem.
Post by: Toner on April 19, 2025, 04:19:04 PM
Hey guys, something weird happened with the audio in avidemux today. I opened a video and there no audio. Then I noticed there was no audio toggle in the bottom right either. When I start the programme it's there but then quickly disappears.

I installed the latest avidemux build and there's no audio either. There was an audio toggle but it's sort of greyed out and can't be controlled.

Looking in the preferences, I noticed audio device had been set to 'dummy' in both versions.

The only other option was Win32 so I set it to that and it's back working again. Is that normal for a Windows10 64bit machine?

Anyone know what might have happened?

Most probable cause is using the same Avidemux profile with different Avidemux versions / running multiple Avidemux instances simultaneously.
