Title: mingw nightly (20260407)
Post by: guju on April 07, 2026, 07:36:08 PM
... are there any functional difference to former nightlies?

Also...what is this (http://www.avidemux.net/) site. It states it is not affiliated to avidemux.org, but I discovered the mingw nightlies from links here, and as they are in an official depository, it seems to give them some credibility?

Like guru, I would be interested to know what differs between these and the last Windows nightly.

New build infrastructure is being tested. Definitely some codecs (e.g. FDK_AAC) are still missing, will be present / will be re-added in the future.

Official nightly builds are distributed only via https://avidemux.org/nightly (https://avidemux.org/nightly), anything else, especially trying to catch visitors typing in a wrong TLD, is untrusted or fraudulent.

Hello,
New to this forum, but a long-time and loyal Avidemux user.

So it's normal not to find the MP4v2 multiplexer in these test versions?
Thks.

No matter whether the libmp4v2-based MP4v2 muxer is present or absent, don't use it (at least in its current state). Please use the libavformat-based MP4 muxer instead.

Thank you for this information.

In any case, version avidemux_mingw64_20260419 triggers security center alerts on my PC. Therefore, I'll stick with the last good portable version for me, avidemux_2.8.2 r241212_win64.

that's probably a false alarm. The binary is built in a linux container, so it's highly dubious it contains a virus or anything

Two things of note: Avidemux (avidemux_mingw64_20260516.exe) creates a folder named "x264" on C: for me if x264 is configured.
And I couldn't login to the forum via login-button. I had to click register and then I was able to click the login-button.
Keep up the good work, eumagga0x2a.
