Title: Problem to open MPEG file
Post by: gandalf76 on September 21, 2012, 10:01:45 PM
I have a MPEG file and opening remains incomplete.
I state that I have never had problems with avidemux 2.5.6 this file with avidemux 2.5.6 opens completely,
While with avidemux 2.6 stops at 80% of indexing. I attach screenshots

Avidemux 2.5.6:

If the file is multi part don't let avidemux auto append and try manual append.
If these are not original recordings. Like edited with avidemux 2.5.6 then it is possible 2.6 has problems opening these.
2.5.6 is frame based, 2.6 is time based. I have both programs alongside for these cases.
2.6 is geared more to HD TV streams. If 2.6 can't handle try with 2.5.6

My file isn't a multi part, but only one file.
is an original recording, was not modified by any program.
is a problem of opening the file.
At this point I follow your advice. I keep both programs just in case
