Title: Excessive CPU usage during playback
Post by: eltomassito on October 09, 2012, 09:45:07 AM
On processor Core i3 2.3GHz CPU usage during playback 720p video is 100% on both cores. Why?
In 2.5 version I could change to half or quarter video size and it helped to playback, but in 2.6 it's impossible to change video size.

What video output are using ?
If openGL works for you, you will see a huge decrease on cpu usage
(same for Xv or vdpau on linux)

No matter. I've changed every available option in Preferences and Video Decoder menu.

Doing what? What is your used OS (32/64-bit). Used hardware. Did show in my previous message that avidemux  v2.6.0 (r8198) is using 14% while playing 720p content.
Claiming it uses 2x more CPU: is saying nothing nor helping finding possible issue.
Give details please.
