Title: Setting AAC-LC audio to a CBR?
Post by: SSM on May 11, 2013, 02:45:50 AM
Hi,

I'm trying to convert some music videos for my iPod.

What I need to be able to do, is set the audio to be constant rather than variable. This is because the iPod doesn't like variable AAC-LC, which means I have to do another re-encode in iTunes to make it iPod compatible.

So can this be done?

The only other alternative I have is to use another program to convert the audio and then to remux that with the video output from Avidemux, but then I start running into problems having to re-sync the audio with the video, which is as much of a PITA as converting it with Avidemux and then converting again with iTunes.

Thanks.

Only with avidemux 2.5.6: Main menu: Auto: Apple iPod is available. On windows and Linux you can have 2.5.6 and 2.6.4 along each other. Hope same goes os X if you're on apple computer.

Thanks.

This seems to work okay on 2.5.6 (Windows).
Can you tell me if it will be fixed in a future Avidemux version?

Kind regards.

EDIT: Also, I forgot to ask about having a 256Kbps audio setting in the dropdown box too?

Cheers.
