Title: The package is of bad quality
Post by: tom1632 on March 26, 2014, 08:15:36 PM
Hi,

I compiled avidemux-2.6.8 on Ubuntu-Gnome 14.04. When I try to install the debs I get this warnings:

The package is of bad quality
Lintian check results for /home/thomas/temp/avi/avidemux_2.6.8/debs/avidemux3-core-2.6.8-Linux.deb:
E: avidemux3-core: control-file-has-bad-permissions md5sums 0664 != 0644
E: avidemux3-core: maintainer-address-missing mean

I have found an older post with the same problem, concerning Ubuntu 12.10 and 13.04 but unfortunately no solution. I know that 14.04 is still beta but it seems that these errors also occurs with stable versions.

Many thanks, Thomas

This is not an error. Ubuntu requires some kind of signing (by developer), just ignore if you build yourself and proceed installing. It's annoying you have to confirm again each deb you install.
