Title: How do I start Avidemux?
Post by: notpresent on April 28, 2014, 09:30:09 PM
My operating system is Ubuntu 12.04. I just finished compiling avidemux 2.6.8. I installed the following 5 .deb files:

avidemux3-core-2.6.8-Linux.deb
avidemux3-plugins-COMMON-2.6.8-Linux.deb
avidemux3-plugins-QT4-2.6.8-Linux.deb
avidemux3-plugins-SETTINGS-2.6.8-Linux.deb
avidemux3-qt4-2.6.8-Linux.deb

Even though all 5 files have been installed, I can't find any reference to avidemux in the dash. How do I start Avidemux?

create a desktop link: /usr/bin/avidemux3_qt4
and use the icon from here http://avidemux.org/smuf/index.php/topic,16159.0.html
a desktop link is there also available for download
