Title: Problem with DVD MPG and BOV, AVI OK.
Post by: TrevorS on June 24, 2014, 10:15:57 PM
On Win7 Ultimate 64bit, I used DVD_Decrypter to copy a single episode (IFO mode) from a TV series DVD into an HDD directory named VIDEO_TS and then used the latest BOV2MPG (in BOV mode) to extract the MPG file.  I tried loading both MPG and then BOV into Avidemux 2.6.8 (win64 V2), but both ways, after file opening (auto scans complete) and clicking on play, the video stops and counter resets to zero in just a few seconds -- only those first few seconds convert (hang location is reproducible and in the opening sequence).  If I use DVDVOB2MPG to extract the MPG from each BOV individually, I end up with the same problem.  However, if I externally convert the mpg to avi (AnyVideoConverter 5), the AVI loads, plays, and converts fine.

Any idea what's going on?

no idea what happens.
Normally the recorded video (.ts) should load directly into avidemux as would the .vob files. Load part1 and append manually the other parts, don't use auto append could be an index issue. Delete .idx2 related files (file name).
