Title: what was the last (if any) version of Avidemux that worked under XP?
Post by: madscijr on February 29, 2016, 06:35:36 PM
I have a Windows XP machine that I use for video stuff (due to various video editing/etc. apps I have licenses for that don't work on newer machines).

Anyhow, is there any version of Avidemux that works under Windows XP, and if so, where can it be downloaded?

Thanks...

You could try one of the 2 at the bottom, avidemux 2.6.9,  32 or 64 bit, according your XP.

Have you tried the advise contained in this thread?

Have a look here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/avidemux/files/avidemux/
Has lots of older versions including 2.5.6

Download and install Avidemux 2.6.12 or newer.

Now download usp10.dll v1.626.6001 (only this version works) from dll-files.com and copy it to your Avidemux install folder.

Now the latest version works on XP.

Version 2.6.10 for 32bit XP was released and posted here:

http://avidemux.org/smif/index.php/topic,16464.msg72692.html#msg72692 (http://avidemux.org/smif/index.php/topic,16464.msg72692.html#msg72692)

It does not contain a newer version of the usp10.dll file so I don't know what is really different.

This release technically should not exist, yet it does, and it works!

(I have not tried the method of getting a newer copy of usp10.dll and putting into the installation folder to get newer versions to work)
