Title: Stop auto indexing on open and/or specify where index file is located
Post by: themelz on May 05, 2016, 06:49:38 AM
If I open a video file Avidemux auto starts indexing the file and saves the index file in the same folder with the same name as the opened video file. I don't want Avidemux to write anything in the same folder as the opened video. How do I keep this from happening and/or specify where the index file is created?

Thanks in advance!

Not possible. .idx2 belongs with the video you work on.
Copy video to a work folder, never work on original video.
QuoteAvidemux is a simple tool for simple video processing tasks. The keyword here is simple: it does not offer tools like a timeline, multitrack editing, you cannot freely move or splice audio and video clips from various sources. However, Avidemux allows you to do elementary things in a very straightforward way.
