Just did find this strange behaviour for preview window
- ascii Filter Auto zoom enabled.
- open new window like text editor, when this pops partial in front of preview
- select preview again (only happening 1st time?)
- preview is resized and partial control is showed.
does it redraw using parameters from an active window (not itself?)
Update: This seems not to occur with 1080i
Is this Reproduceable? On other Operating systems to?

Not with Qt5 builds with gnome-shell. You could easily test by starting a non-Unity session, e.g. Xfce with a different window manager if Unity with Compiz is at fault.
